Ipswich Town has secured the services of Kosovo goalkeeper Arijanet Muric from Burnley, marking the club's fifth signing of the summer transfer window. The 25-year-old has agreed to a four-year contract and will join the team's pre-season training camp in Austria.
Muric expressed his excitement about the move, stating that he is impressed by Ipswich's playing style and believes it suits him well. He also praised the conversations he had with the manager and head of goalkeeping, Rene Gilmartin, which further convinced him that this is the right move for his career.
Born in Switzerland, Muric has represented Kosovo 38 times at the international level. He began his professional career with Manchester City and went on loan to several clubs, including NAC Breda, Nottingham Forest, Girona, Willem II, and Adana Demirspor, before joining Burnley in 2022.
During his first season at Burnley, Muric recorded 19 clean sheets in 41 appearances in the Championship, helping the team win the title and gain promotion to the Premier League. He played a total of 55 times for the Clarets.
Ipswich Town will play their first pre-season match on July 20 against Shakhtar Donetsk and will face Liverpool at home on August 17 in their opening match of the Premier League season.
This signing is a significant boost for Ipswich Town as they prepare for their first Premier League season since 2001/02. Muric's impressive skills and experience will undoubtedly contribute to the team's success in the upcoming season.
