Former Liverpool Midfielder Thiago Alcantara Announces Retirement
Thiago Alcantara, a former Premier League midfielder, has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 33. The Spanish player had a illustrious career, winning numerous titles including four league titles and two UEFA Champions Leagues.
Thiago began his career at Barcelona, where he won multiple honors under Pep Guardiola. He later joined Bayern Munich, winning six consecutive Bundesliga titles and another Champions League trophy. In 2020, he moved to Liverpool, where he won the FA Cup in 2021/22.
Throughout his career, Thiago made 488 appearances, scoring 48 goals and providing 63 assists. He also represented Spain, earning 46 caps and scoring two goals.
