 What Mbappe said about his future at PSG

It is common for PSG to win the title in any domestic competition in France. Being the runner-up in these competitions is also a big failure for the club. The Parisian club has won another title in continuation of its dominance in the domestic competition. PSG retained the French Champions Trophy (Super Cup) with a 2-0 win over Toulouse last night.

Lee Kang-in scored PSG's lead in the 3rd minute of the match at home ground Parc des Princes. Kylian Mbappe made it 2-0 before the break. It was Mbappe's 22nd goal in all competitions in the 2023-24 season and PSG's 13th title.

There was so much drama surrounding Mbappe during his last summer transfer that at one point it looked like his PSG-chapter was over. At any moment, he may announce a move to Real Madrid or Al Hilal.

However, the drama ended shortly after the start of the 2023-24 season. But since the first day of the new year, since the winter team transfer has started, rumors of Mbappe leaving PSG have spread again.

That is why journalists are more interested in Mbappe's future at PSG than knowing the feeling of winning the trophy at the end of tomorrow's match. In response to reporters' questions, the World Cup-winning star forward said that he has not yet made up his mind about not staying at PSG, "I have not decided yet." I have not decided my choice. My decision is not important here. I had that kind of agreement with the president (PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi) last summer. It was said that we will protect the interests of all parties and maintain the tranquility of the club. So I will say, my decision is secondary now.

Mbappe has said this before. But late in the transfer window, there was drama. Mbappe's answer to the question whether he will do the same this time, "I did that at the end of May 2022. Because I didn't know anything until the end of May. If I know what I want to do, why wait? It doesn't make any sense. As I said before, it is important for me now to win the title (for PSG). Last August, Mbappe's relationship with the club authorities went to the bottom because he did not agree to renew the contract with PSG. On the one hand, PSG are ready to sell Mbappe, on the other hand, he is determined to stay until the end of the term. Because, if Mbappe leaves after completing the term, PSG will not get a single penny from the transfer. And if he leaves the club at the end of the term, he will get the entire loyalty bonus of 8 million euros.

Mbappe was sent from PSG's original squad to the 'bomb squad' at one stage of controversy. Mbappe was returned to PSG's main squad after the two sides finally met and reached an agreement.
