Marquinhos, the 20-year-old Brazilian youth international, has been recalled from his loan at FC Nantes in Ligue 1, where he spent the entire season. He is set to join the under-23 national team for the 2024 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament held in Venezuela.
Tasked with contributing to Brazil's qualification for the 2024 Olympics Men’s Football Tournament in France, Marquinhos aims to play a crucial role in securing one of the two coveted spots for South American national teams.
His journey with Arsenal began with a memorable debut, scoring a notable goal in the 2-1 Europa League victory over FC Zurich in September 2022. The young forward, who initially joined from Sao Paulo the previous summer, swiftly transitioned to the Premier League, making his debut in a 3-0 win against Brentford. However, he later embarked on a loan to Championship side Norwich City in January.
Before his English ventures, Marquinhos gained valuable experience with his hometown club, making his senior debut shortly after turning 18 and contributing to their victory in the Sao Paulo State Championship in 2021.
As Marquinhos returns to Arsenal, the club extends warm wishes for success in the upcoming international tournament and anticipates his continued growth and development.
