Adebayo and Brereton Strike in Opening 20 Seconds
The Premier League resumed with excitement as Elijah Adebayo (Luton Town) and Ben Brereton (Sheffield United) both found the net within 20 seconds. This marked only the fourth occasion in Premier League history where two goals were scored within the first minute, joining the ranks of November 28, 2012, August 30, 2014, and December 26, 2014.
Adebayo swiftly headed in from close range against Brighton at Kenilworth Road, while Brereton surprised Palace with a low strike into the bottom-right corner from the edge of the penalty area.
These goals ranked as the second and third-fastest in the Premier League this season, following Jay Rodriguez's quick goal for Burnley against Sheffield United in December.
Luton continued their early onslaught, scoring another goal against Brighton just two minutes and 17 seconds into the match. This achievement made them the second-fastest team to score two goals in a match, following Leicester City's feat against Derby County in April 1998, courtesy of Emile Heskey and Muzzy Isset.
