Lille's 2-0 Win Extends Unbeaten Streak in Ligue 1
In a Sunday match, Lille secured a 2-0 victory against bottom-placed Olympique Lyonnais, extending their unbeaten Ligue 1 streak to seven games. Lille currently holds the fourth position in the standings with 23 points, just one behind Monaco, who suffered a 5-2 defeat against leaders Paris St Germain on Friday. Nice occupies the second spot with 29 points, trailing PSG by one.
Lille seized an early lead with Jonathan David's goal in the 28th minute, courtesy of Yusuf Yazici's precise through ball. Four minutes later, Tiago Santos capitalized on a defensive error from Lyon, unleashing a remarkable long-range shot to extend Lille's advantage.
Despite Lyon's previous win against Rennes before the international break, they were unable to build momentum. Fabio Grosso's team currently resides at the bottom of the table with seven points, but with a game in hand, as their clash with Olympique de Marseille got postponed until December 6.
Lille is set to face Olimpija Ljubljana in the Europa Conference League on Thursday, while Lyon will play against Lens on Saturday.
