Jadon Sancho Isolated in Training Amid Manchester United Disciplinary Issue
Manchester United's Jadon Sancho finds himself in solitary training as the club deals with a disciplinary matter, according to a statement released by the Premier League team. This decision comes in the wake of a dispute between the player and manager Erik ten Hag, which led to Sancho's exclusion from the squad during United's 3-1 loss to Arsenal on September 3rd. Ten Hag had cited Sancho's subpar training performance as the reason behind his omission.
In response to his omission, the 23-year-old English international took to X, the social media platform previously known as Twitter, to express his feelings, claiming that he had been unfairly singled out as a "scapegoat" in the situation.
Sancho, who made the move to Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund in July 2021, had already experienced a period of separation from the squad last season when he underwent separate training.
In their official statement, Manchester United announced, "Jadon Sancho will remain on a personal training programme away from the first-team group, pending resolution of a squad discipline issue."
Unfortunately, this is not the only off-field issue plaguing Manchester United this season. Brazilian attacker Antony recently declared that he would not immediately return to the club amidst assault allegations against him. Additionally, forward Mason Greenwood secured a loan move to LaLiga side Getafe after facing allegations of assault and attempted rape, although charges against him were dropped in February. Antony has consistently denied any wrongdoing, while Greenwood has vehemently maintained his innocence in statements to British media.
As it stands, Manchester United currently occupies the 11th spot in the Premier League, having accumulated six points from four games. They are gearing up to host Brighton & Hove Albion in their next match on Saturday.
