In a commanding performance during the Euro 2024 Group H qualifier, Denmark's star playmaker, Christian Eriksen, displayed his exceptional passing prowess, orchestrating his team's 4-0 triumph over San Marino on Thursday. Eriksen not only netted a goal but also crafted two pivotal assists, guiding his side to an effortless victory against the visiting team.

The match started with a dramatic twist as Eriksen had an early opportunity to break the deadlock from the penalty spot, only to have the decision overturned by VAR after 20 minutes of play. However, Denmark quickly bounced back, taking the lead in the 26th minute thanks to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. Hojbjerg capitalized on a clever pass from Jonas Wind, gracefully allowing the ball to run across his body before unleashing a right-footed shot into the net.

Just two minutes later, Eriksen showcased his creativity once again. He left the San Marino defense bewildered with a sublime backheel pass that found the path of the charging Joakim Maehle. Maehle calmly navigated past the goalkeeper and slotted home a straightforward finish.

Christian Eriksen's exceptional contribution continued as he earned his second assist in the 40th minute, setting up striker Jonas Wind for another goal. In the second half's stoppage time, Eriksen put the icing on the cake by scoring a goal himself. A speculative cross took San Marino's goalkeeper, Elia Benedettini, by surprise, and although initially credited to substitute Yussuf Poulsen, UEFA later updated their website to award the goal to Eriksen.

This resounding victory elevated Denmark to the second position in the group with 10 points after five games, placing them just two points behind the leaders, Finland. They also held a superior goal difference over third-placed Slovenia, marking an impressive start to their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign.
