Sergio Ramos, the esteemed former center-back of Real Madrid and Paris St Germain, is embarking on a heartfelt return to his childhood club, Sevilla, as a free agent. This significant move was officially announced by the LaLiga side on a Monday.

Following the expiration of his contract with the Ligue 1 club in June, reliable sources revealed that the 37-year-old veteran declined a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia's Al-Ittihad and instead opted for a one-year contract with his beloved Spanish side.

Sevilla warmly recalled Sergio's remarkable journey, stating, "Sergio arrived at our youth academy at the tender age of seven and steadily ascended through the youth ranks, ultimately making his debut in the first reserve team at the age of 16 during the 2002/03 season. Our academy's prodigious center-back is now returning home nearly two decades after his departure at the age of 19 to join Real Madrid."

The distinguished defender's stint with PSG commenced in 2021, having failed to reach an agreement for an extension of his remarkable 16-year tenure with Real Madrid. During his two seasons with the French club, he secured two Ligue 1 titles, adding further glory to his illustrious career.

At Real Madrid, Ramos amassed a staggering collection of achievements, including four Champions League titles and five LaLiga trophies, a testament to his enduring excellence on the pitch. Over the course of 671 appearances, he remarkably netted 101 goals for the club.

In addition to his club accomplishments, Sergio Ramos held the honor of being Spain's most capped international player, securing triumph in the 2010 World Cup and two European Cups, a testament to his immense contributions to the national team. His illustrious international journey concluded with his retirement announcement in February.
