Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr will be sidelined for their upcoming LaLiga match against Getafe due to a leg muscle issue, as confirmed by coach Carlo Ancelotti following their 1-0 victory against Celta Vigo on Friday.

The 23-year-old forward's absence might extend to Brazil's World Cup qualifying campaign, as he was substituted just 15 minutes into the game due to the injury. While Real Madrid is set to face Getafe on September 2, Brazil has matches scheduled against Bolivia on September 8 and Peru on September 12.

Despite this setback, Ancelotti assured that the injury is not severe, distinguishing it from the more serious injuries faced by goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and defender Eder Militao earlier in the season. The coach expressed confidence that Vinicius would recuperate during the international break and return to action.

"Vinicius has experienced some muscle discomfort in his leg. It wasn't a major concern. He attempted to continue playing, but the discomfort persisted, leading us to make the decision to substitute him," Ancelotti informed reporters.

This incident marks Vinicius Jr's first encounter with a muscle injury. Notably, the young left winger has exhibited his prowess by netting 28 goals and providing 19 assists for Real Madrid since the commencement of the previous season.

Ancelotti also conveyed that Real Madrid will not actively seek new signings, citing the depth of their existing squad as sufficient, despite facing injuries and the departure of Ballon d'Or awardee Karim Benzema to the Saudi Pro League.

The coach praised the team's overall strength, highlighting their capability to secure victories even in the absence of key players like Courtois, Militao, Karim, and Vinicius. Real Madrid has kicked off their LaLiga campaign with a flawless record of three wins in as many games, solidifying their position at the top of the league standings.
