Patrik Schick to Miss Euro 2024 Qualifier Due to Injury
Patrik Schick, the co-leading goal scorer of Euro 2020, will unfortunately be absent from the Czech Republic's upcoming Euro 2024 qualifying match due to an injury, as confirmed by the national team's announcement on Tuesday.
In the forthcoming Group E match scheduled for September 7th, where the Czech Republic is set to face Albania as the host, they will have to navigate the game without the participation of Patrik Schick, who hails from Bayer 04 Leverkusen, and the injured defender David Jurasek from Benfica Lisbon.
At present, having contested three matches, the Czech national team stands at the forefront of their group with a commendable accumulation of seven points. Their closest competitor, Albania, follows suit with a total of six points. This group also includes the Faroe Islands, Moldova, and Poland, thereby making the competition a diverse and interesting field of football talent.
