Olympique de Marseille Signs Joaquin Correa on Loan from Inter Milan
Olympique de Marseille made an exciting acquisition by signing Argentina forward Joaquin Correa on loan from Serie A side Inter Milan, the announcement came from the Ligue 1 club on Friday.
Correa initially joined Inter in August 2021, arriving from league rivals Lazio on a one-year loan with an obligation to buy. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in securing both the Italian Cup and Italian Super Cup titles for the club.
Furthermore, Correa was instrumental in Inter's remarkable journey to the Champions League final last season, although they faced defeat at the hands of Manchester City in that match.
With 19 caps for the national team, Correa's international career began in June 2017 when he made his debut for Argentina in a friendly victory against Brazil. Notably, he played a significant part in Argentina's triumph at the Copa America in 2021 and the 'Finalissima' in 2022 against Italy.
Despite being initially selected for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar by manager Lionel Scaloni, Correa's unfortunate injury forced him to withdraw from the squad just five days before the tournament commenced.
As for Marseille's current Ligue 1 standing, they currently hold the sixth position with four points gathered from two games. Their upcoming fixture involves hosting the second-placed Brest on Saturday, adding anticipation to Correa's arrival at the club.
