Christian Pulisic Shines in AC Milan a Debut
American soccer player Christian Pulisic, motivated by the belief that joining AC Milan would advance his career, brilliantly displayed his talents in their inaugural 2-0 triumph against Bologna in the Serie A match held on Monday.
Having spent four seasons at Chelsea, where he participated in 145 matches and found the net 26 times, the 24-year-old winger faced challenges securing a consistent starting spot and found himself surplus to the requirements of the club's new manager, Mauricio Pochettino.
Following a less than satisfactory tenure at Stamford Bridge, Pulisic's debut in Italy proved resoundingly successful as he played an instrumental role in Milan's initial goal, executed by Olivier Giroud, and subsequently netted one himself.
Expressing his sentiments, Pulisic shared with DAZN, "The decision to join this club felt like the perfect progression for my career. I've been embraced warmly and am genuinely enthusiastic about contributing to this team." He went on to reflect on his personal triumph, saying, "Starting on such a positive note is truly gratifying—scoring a goal is always satisfying, and clinching a clean sheet and victory adds to the sense of achievement."
Inquiring about his individual and collective objectives for the season, Pulisic revealed his aspiration to reclaim the Scudetto for Milan, following a season-long intermission. He affirmed, "Our determination is to contend for the championship. We're resolute in pursuing every available title." While refraining from singling out frontrunners for the league title at this early stage, Pulisic underscored, "On a personal level, my goal remains consistent: to continue contributing goals and assists, as I did tonight, with the overarching aim of propelling the team towards championship victories."
Anticipation now builds as Pulisic anticipates his forthcoming debut at the San Siro against Torino on Saturday. "Without a doubt, the energy and support from the fans tonight at the away game were exceptional. Imagining the atmosphere at our home stadium is beyond exciting," he mused with enthusiasm.
