The leader of the rescue team broke down in tears while talking about finding the remains of the Titan
The leader of the rescue team, who discovered the remains of the ill-fated Titan on the ocean floor, expressed immense excitement while speaking about the expedition.
The rescue team, headed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pelagic Research Services, Ed Cassano, held a press conference last Friday.
During the press conference held at the organization's headquarters in New York, Cassano stated that the members of his team who participated in this expedition were overwhelmed with enthusiasm.
The wreckage of the Titanic, located at the depths of the North Atlantic, was found on June 18 after losing contact with Titan due to a catastrophic implosion. Subsequently, multiple countries, including the United States, initiated a recovery mission.
On June 22, the U.S. Coast Guard reported that some remains of the Titan had been found. The Titan had suffered a devastating collapse due to an inward pressure at the depths of the North Atlantic. As a result of this incident, all five submersible crew members of the Titan were killed.
Cassano mentioned that communication with Titan was established immediately after the loss of contact. Later, their remotely operated vehicle, Odysseus 6K, reached the site of the Titanic's wreckage.
The CEO of Pelagic Research Services stated that they located the remains of the Titan shortly after reaching the ocean floor with Odysseus 6K.
While speaking at the press conference, Cassano became emotional. In a tearful voice, he acknowledged the severity of the incident and appealed to everyone's attention. He also expressed his respect for the individuals involved in the recovery mission by acknowledging their emotional state.
Cassano stated that their recovery plan was designed to secure the Titan as quickly as possible upon its discovery. The challenge of the recovery mission was extreme.
Subsequently, the remains of the Titan were brought to the surface. The U.S. Coast Guard reported that human remains could be found in these remains of the disaster.
