Ronaldo's Phone Call to Bring Midfielder to Al Nassr from the Portuguese National Team
Premature Departure of Players from Clubs or Career Turns — Saudi Arabian Clubs have Increased their Attraction Towards Footballers from Europe. The two Saudi Arabian clubs have already brought in players who have left their respective clubs, such as Ronaldo and free-agent Ben Yedder.
Ronaldo's former club, Al Nassr, has now set its sights on Portuguese star Otávio, who plays in the midfield. According to reports, Al Nassr has made a substantial offer to the 28-year-old midfielder. It is also reported that Ronaldo himself is attempting to bring Otávio to Saudi Arabian football, as stated by the Portuguese news outlet 'A Bola'.
The Portuguese media outlet revealed that Ronaldo called Otávio to convince him to sign with Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. Otávio still has two years remaining on his current contract with Porto. His release clause until July is £3.1 million, which will increase to £4.7 million after July.
If the Portuguese midfielder joins Al Nassr after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, he will receive an annual salary of £1.2 million, according to 'A Bola'. This amount is five times more than his current salary at Porto.
Ronaldo and Otávio have a good relationship. Who knows, this relationship might be the significant factor that could entice Otávio to leave European football at the age of 28 and join the Saudi Pro League club.
