The mayor of a small city in southern Mexico has done such a job that he has become viral worldwide. He got married. If you think there is nothing big news about it, then you are mistaken! When the mayor of a small city in southern Mexico entered the wedding venue, people applauded and danced. He had a crocodile in his hand. The crocodile was dressed up in the attire of the whole wedding.

AFP News Agency reports - in the presence of thousands of people, the mayor married this crocodile. Victor Hugo Sosa, the mayor of San Pedro Huamelula, a town in Tehuantepec Isthmus, Mexico, accepted a crocodile named Alicia Adriana as his wife.

This is the type of crocodile found in Mexico and Central America. The locals call it 'princess'. During the ceremony, Sosa said, "I am taking responsibility because we love each other. This is important. Marriage is not possible without love... I am ready to marry a 'princess'."

The interesting thing is that for the past 230 years, a marriage has been taking place between a man and a crocodile here. This tradition began when a Chontal king, who is now known as the mayor, married a princess of the indigenous community, who took the form of a female crocodile. The Huave sub-ethnic group resides in the neighboring state of Oaxaca, not far from this secluded city.

The crocodile has been dressed up like a new bride.

Before the wedding ceremony, the crocodile is taken from house to house so that the residents can dance with it in their arms. The crocodile's mouth was closed to prevent any accidents before the wedding. Then, following Western wedding customs, it was taken to the venue wearing a white gown. Such weddings are organized in Mexico to strengthen the relationship between the environment, animals, and humans. This type of wedding is still prevalent here. People believe that by doing this, God will fulfill all their desires. After the wedding, the mayor danced with the crocodile to the rhythm of traditional music.
