There hasn't been much speculation about Lionel Messi's return to Barcelona. Messi himself wanted to return, and Barcelona also wanted him. However, despite the desire of both parties, not everything is possible due to various complexities, especially for a club like Barcelona whose financial situation is currently not very good. That's why Messi couldn't return to Barcelona amidst all the complications.

At the end of his two-year contract with PSG, Messi is considering joining Inter Miami CF, a Major League Soccer (MLS) club in the United States. Even if Messi doesn't return to Barcelona, it could lead to a disruptive transformation for the Catalan club.

Let's now discuss the situation openly. Barcelona wants to give Messi an official farewell from the Nou Camp. However, when they can bid farewell to him has been uncertain all this time. Barcelona President Joan Laporta has now provided a clear idea on that matter.

In August 2021, Barcelona was forced to let go of Messi to some extent. Their financial situation was so bad at that time that they had to bid farewell to even the best footballer in the club's history. A week before the end of the transfer season, Barcelona informed Messi that they couldn't register him due to the wage bill policy in La Liga. That's why Messi's decision to join PSG had to be hastily made. As a result, he didn't have an official farewell from the field.

Fans have been disappointed since the last time Messi was seen playing in Barcelona's jersey at Camp Nou. Despite their grievances, Laporta wants to silence the critics. Regarding this matter, the Catalan television channel 'TV3' quoted Barcelona's president, saying, "Barça will always be his (Messi's) home. I have spoken to his representatives to avoid bidding him farewell. The start of the Spotify Camp Nou can be a fantastic farewell."

According to Laporta's statement, there are no plans for Messi's departure from the field in Barcelona during the 2023-24 season. This is because the renovation work is underway at Barcelona's home ground, Camp Nou. The Olympic Stadium of Montjuïc will be transformed into their new home ground, where home matches will be played. Barcelona will return to Camp Nou in the 2024-25 season, with the seats already allocated at 50 percent capacity. The renovation work is expected to be completed by the 2025-26 season.

After Messi joined Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona issued a statement saying, "A proposal was made on behalf of Barcelona. The proposal was made to bring Messi back to Barcelona's jersey. President Laporta understands the whole situation. He respects Messi's decision to play in a less important league, outside the spotlight of the spotlight. Messi has been under a lot of pressure in recent seasons...!"

'TV3' also highlighted the same reason behind Messi's decision to join PSG in his farewell letter from Barcelona, stating, "Messi wanted to return to Barcelona. He spent a lot of unnecessary time in PSG. His father informed me that he no longer wants that pressure. We respect him. Best wishes for his journey to Paris."
