"After 'Lady Bird' and 'Little Women,' Greta Gerwig's third film 'Barbie' has been released on July 21. Margot Robbie's 'Barbie' is ruling the box office alongside Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer.' Greta has conveyed the message of feminism against patriarchy through this film, using a simple language to convey important ideas. The film stars popular Hollywood actress Margot Robbie and actor Ryan Gosling in the lead roles. Besides promoting feminism, the film also features LGBTQ+ representation. The mood board of the film reflects this aspect, which led to it being banned in several Islamic countries, including Russia.

On July 21, along with Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer,' the film 'Barbie' has also been released in theaters. Despite 'Oppenheimer' being more popular in India, 'Barbie' has gained worldwide attention and success. Greta's skill as a director and storyteller, along with the light-hearted mood of the film and the outstanding performances of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, have contributed to its box office success. However, Islamic countries have taken issue with the film's expression of feminism and LGBTQ+ representation. Pakistan and Iran have issued bans on the film's screening. Not only these countries, but Russia, Vietnam, and the Philippines have also halted its screenings. In Iran, although it has been banned, temporary screenings have taken place in Pakistan, but eventually, 'Barbie' was banned there as well.

The Punjab Censor Board in Pakistan has conveyed that if objectionable content is removed from the film, it can be re-released in theaters. The Punjab Censor Board is currently busy reviewing the film to make a decision. Once the objections are addressed, a revised version of 'Barbie' will receive clearance for screening. After that, Greta Gerwig's directed film 'Barbie' will finally be screened in Pakistan."
