In a closed-door friendly match, England and Canada played to a goalless draw, while Spain and Italy emerged victorious in their warm-up matches leading up to the Women's World Cup.

England, ranked fourth, were the reigning champions of the 2022 Euro tournament, while seventh-ranked Canada clinched gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The friendly between the two teams took place at Queensland Sports Stadium and marked Canada's first match since April 11. It was also the final encounter for both teams before they kick off their World Cup campaigns, with the possibility of facing each other in the quarter-finals.

Italy secured a behind-closed-doors win against New Zealand's Football Ferns in Auckland, with Valentina Giacinti of AS Roma scoring the solitary goal in the 23rd minute. The Football Ferns, who are in pursuit of their first World Cup victory, faced defeat in this match.

In a friendly match, Spain dominated Vietnam, who were participating in their inaugural World Cup, with an impressive 9-0 victory.

Hosts Australia celebrated a 1-0 triumph over France, courtesy of a goal by Mary Fowler.

The match between Ireland and Colombia was prematurely halted after 20 minutes due to excessively physical play.
