Dusan Tadic to Depart Ajax Amsterdam by Own Request
Ajax Amsterdam announced on Friday that Dusan Tadic, the Serbian striker, will depart from the club as per his own request. Tadic, 34, joined Ajax from Southampton at the beginning of the 2018-19 season. During his tenure, he achieved three league titles and secured the Dutch Cup twice. With a total of 241 appearances for the club, he scored an impressive 105 goals.
In a statement, Tadic expressed the difficulty of his decision to leave, but affirmed that he believes it is the right time to do so. He expressed his unwavering attachment to Ajax, declaring that he hopes to return to Amsterdam in the future, albeit in a different capacity as a coach. Tadic did not disclose his immediate plans after departing from the club.
Last season, Feyenoord clinched the Dutch league title, finishing 13 points ahead of Ajax, who settled for third place. PSV Eindhoven secured the runner-up position and claimed the final Champions League qualification spot.
