"In Bengaluru, ISRO's office is controlling and overseeing the trajectory of Chandrayaan-3. The final phase of the lunar orbit insertion has also been executed from there.

Chandrayaan-3 has successfully completed its fifth and final maneuver in the Earth's orbit. The fifth lunar orbit insertion was accomplished successfully. The maneuver took place on Tuesday between 2 PM to 3 PM, as tweeted by ISRO at 2:45 PM.

With the completion of this maneuver, Chandrayaan-3 has moved beyond the Earth's gravitational force. As a result, it will now enter the 'domain' of the Moon and continue its journey towards the lunar surface.

ISRO has revealed that after the fifth orbit change, Chandrayaan-3 will be 12,760,936 km away from Earth and 236 km from the lunar surface. The spacecraft will continue to undergo further acceleration in space.

The process of entering the lunar orbit will be completed on the upcoming 1st of August. On that day, between 12 AM to 1 AM (Indian Standard Time), ISRO's Chandrayaan-3 will enter the lunar orbit.

In order to gradually increase Chandrayaan-3's velocity and move it beyond the influence of Earth's gravitational force, ISRO had planned a total of five orbit changes, all of which have been successfully executed. Prior to this, on July 15th, 16th, 18th, and 20th, Chandrayaan-3 underwent orbit changes, incrementally increasing its distance from Earth. So far, its journey in space has been smooth and uninterrupted. If everything goes as planned, Chandrayaan-3 will reach the Moon on either the 23rd or 24th of August.

If ISRO's mission is successful, India will join the list of countries including the Soviet Union, the United States, and China to achieve success in lunar missions. They will become the fourth country to land a spacecraft on the Moon."
