The Brazilian newspaper Jornal GZH has reported that Uruguayan star, who has been suffering from arthritis for a long time, is considering retirement. The former Barcelona star is contemplating retirement due to his ongoing pain.

The newspaper states that Suarez has discussed the possibility of retirement with his Brazilian club Gremio. The ankle problem is causing him a lot of distress. Besides, he also wants to dedicate more time to his family.

On the other hand, Gremio President Romildo Bolzan Jr. revealed to Argentine news media TyC Sports that Suarez's ankle injury has taken a more serious turn. Bolzan stated, "Suarez's ankle condition is indeed very serious. It has reached a point where he has to take a lot of injections and medication just to be able to play. But we don't know how long this situation will last. Despite taking medication, he is still experiencing pain."

A few days ago, there were reports that Uruguayan star Suarez could join Major League Soccer in the United States. However, Suarez himself denied the news. He stated that he wants to fulfill his contract with Gremio until 2024.
