Vinicius Junior has been with Real Madrid for more than five years now. However, in recent days, it seems like he is not feeling comfortable at the club. It appears that he has a desire to play for the Brazilian club Flamengo.
Yesterday, he faced his former team Flamengo in a friendly match between Flamengo and Vasco da Gama. After the first half ended, Vinicius took the field. The Brazilian forward was presented with a jersey that had his name and number (VinÃcius) by both clubs. Behind the jerseys of Flamengo players, there was a writing that said 'All with Vinicius Junior.' Seeing all this, he became overwhelmed with emotion. He wants to return to the club he left five years ago, saying, "It will take some time, but one day I will return (to Flamengo). I'm happy to witness Flamengo's classic match here in Maracanã. I'm really pleased with what they have done for me."
On May 21, at the Mestalla Stadium, during the Valencia vs Real Madrid match in La Liga, the Brazilian forward was subjected to racist abuse. He posted a video on his Instagram showing how he was subjected to racial abuse in the past year, along with his evidence. At that time, the Brazilian forward said, "It's a disappointing reality when you go outside your home to play an away match. Such incidents have happened a lot this season. Death wishes, monkey chants... But it's always said to be 'isolated incidents.' No, these are not isolated incidents. They happen regularly and even on television programs. The video has evidence."
In January of this year, four people were arrested for throwing a puppet with Vinicius' face onto the main road in Madrid.
