In the previous season, Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, and Cristian Eriksen formed the "Bermuda Triangle" in the midfield of Manchester United. The three of them played together on the field and United did not lose any match with them.

However, it seemed like Eric Ten Hag's desire was not fulfilled. The 53-year-old coach hoped to further organize the Red Devils' midfield. Therefore, he wanted to add a promising young player to the team.

Eric Ten Hag's wish has been almost fulfilled. Mason Mount has agreed to leave Chelsea to strengthen Manchester United before the expiration of his contract in one year. The 24-year-old English midfielder is leaving the London club and joining United.

BBC, Daily Mirror, ESPN, and The Athletics, along with several other media outlets, have reported that both clubs have agreed to Mount's transfer. He will sign a contract with the club until 2028 at Old Trafford. In the summer transfer window, Mount will be United's first new signing.

Mount's transfer fee is as colossal as Mount Everest—£60 million. Out of this, £50 million 50 lakh will be paid at the time of the agreement. The remaining £50 lakh will be paid later. This week, Mount will undergo a medical examination at United's medical center. After that, the official announcement may come.

Mount joined Chelsea Academy at the age of only 6. In 2017, he got the opportunity to join the first team. He has become a Champions League and Club World Cup-winning midfielder with Chelsea and has finally crossed the bridge.

In the upcoming season, Manchester United's midfield will transform from a triangle to a quadrilateral. With Mount and Eriksen attacking midfielders, there will be increased competition between the two players for a place in the team. Mount possesses excellent finishing and set-piece skills, similar to Eriksen.

Before acquiring Mount, Manchester United had offered Chelsea £40 million ($549 million) for his transfer. However, Chelsea rejected the proposal and demanded £70 million ($961 million) from the London club. Considering the significant expenditure of £60 million ($824 million) in the previous season and the financial constraints faced in the English Premier League, Manchester United had to consider overall expenses as well. Consequently, they were obligated to sell the player by June 30th. Hence, Chelsea did not increase their bid and let go of their "homegrown talent" for £82 million ($1 billion).

Chelsea's previous season was forgettable, with no change in coaches despite finishing in 12th place in the Premier League. As a result, they won't be able to participate in any European competitions in the upcoming season. Towards the end of the season, before suffering an injury, Mount also left the field. Before his setback, he scored 10 goals and provided an additional 10 assists for his teammates. In total, he has 33 goals and 37 assists in 195 matches for Chelsea.

Not only Mount, but Chelsea is also parting ways with other stars such as Kai Havertz, Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ethan Ampadu, and Calum Hudson-Odoi.

On the other hand, Arsenal's pursuit of Declan Rice has temporarily halted. The 24-year-old defensive midfielder was offered to West Ham for £10 million ($137 million) in exchange. West Ham agreed to pay this amount and provide an 18-month period for Arsenal to make the payment. However, fans desire a four-year deal instead.
