Is Cristiano Ronaldo managing Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia? Some people can say such things. Last April, Rudy Garcia was dismissed from the position of coach at Al-Nassr. The media had reported at the time that his departure was partly due to the deterioration of his relationship with Ronaldo. It seems that Garcia's tactics were not favored by the Portuguese forward.

Ronaldo accused Garcia of not bringing out the best in the players. As a result, Al-Nassr replaced Garcia with their former assistant coach, Luis Castro, who happens to be Ronaldo's compatriot.

According to sources from ESPN, the 61-year-old Castro has accepted the proposal from Al-Nassr. He recently left his position as coach of Botafogo, announcing his departure after the match against Magallanes. Gol.com and ESPN confirmed this information before anyone else. However, Al-Nassr has not made any official announcement yet regarding Castro's appointment as the coach.

Last week, Al-Nassr had contacted Castro. They offered him a two-year contract, with the possibility of extending it for another year. And what about the salary?

According to ESPN, Castro will receive a significantly higher salary than what he earned at Botafogo. However, Ronaldo played a significant role in Al-Nassr's pursuit of Castro. He personally called Castro to invite him to join Al-Nassr. This year, Castro's contract with Botafogo will expire. To secure his services, the Brazilian club will have to pay Al-Nassr a release clause of 2.3 million euros.

Considering his coaching career, Castro has a wealth of experience. He has coached 12 clubs so far. In the 2019-20 season, he led Shakhtar Donetsk to victory in the Ukrainian Premier League.
