The match lasted less than a minute. The spectators were hoping to sit back and relax in their chairs, but Gundogan didn't allow that. In just 12 seconds of the match, a bullet shot from the right foot of Manchester City's captain flew 20 yards into the net. Manchester United's goalkeeper, David De Gea, couldn't anticipate the trajectory of the ball coming towards him. Gundogan's goal in the FA Cup final was scored quickly. The previous record was held by Louis Sahar, who scored a goal within 25 seconds in 2009. Kevin De Bruyne tried to stop the ball with his head, but defender Victor Lindelof blocked him. The ball didn't touch Gundogan as it flew past his shoulder and into the net. German midfielder Gundogan also scored the second goal, following the same path as the first one.

In the 51st minute, De Bruyne chipped the ball from a free kick, but it didn't touch the ground and went wide near the box. This time, the shot from his left foot had too much power. Even diving, De Gea couldn't stop it. Manchester City's captain's goal sealed the fate of the Manchester Derby match. With a 2-1 victory, Pep Guardiola's team became the FA Cup champions after four years. They won the Shield Trophy with that goal as well.

Along with that, Guardiola's disciples took another step forward on the path to triumph in the treble during this ongoing season. After winning the Premier League, if they defeat Inter Milan in the Champions League final on June 10th in Istanbul, City will taste the flavor of treble for the first time, just like the 1998-99 season when United achieved this feat.

Eric Ten Hag's team didn't give City the chance to take the lead in their glory and didn't allow them to boss over their city rivals. In the 30th minute, their defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka's shot on Jack Grealish's hand resulted in a penalty given by the referee after a VAR review. Fernandinho equalized from the spot kick. It was the first time in the history of the FA Cup final that both team captains scored a goal. However, United couldn't find the second goal. They had to settle for winning the Carabao Cup to remain satisfied in the upcoming season. It wasn't their 13th FA Cup win like the Red Devils.

Guardiola shed tears of joy at the end of the match. Previously, he had won the treble as Barcelona's coach. Now, can he achieve the same as Manchester City's coach? The answer will be known very soon. At the moment, the domestic double has been achieved. The city now only awaits the crown of European club supremacy, just like the first time, to complete their European conquest.
