 Neymar is the root of Barcelona's ongoing problems. When Barcelona's vice-president of economic affairs, Eduard Romeu, heard about it, he undoubtedly felt the same. Recently, the club's executive stated that Neymar's arrival marked the beginning of the team's financial instability. It's not just Neymar's arrival, but also his departure from the club that has caused trouble for Barcelona. It is different in many ways.

In 2013, Neymar joined Barcelona from Santos for €50.7 million. At that time, there was concern among some members of the team regarding the salary set for the new arrival, but Neymar did not spend much time proving himself as one of the best players of his time. His partnership with Lionel Messi was fantastic, and when Luis Suarez joined later, the trio formed the "MSN" trident, which achieved multiple trophies including La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.

Despite achieving success on the field with the Messi-Neymar-Suarez trio, problems surrounding Barcelona's finances began to revolve around this Brazilian star's arrival. This is what Eduard Romeu claimed, stating, "The problems started with Neymar's arrival because a disproportionate amount of money was spent on a player who had just arrived."

However, Neymar himself created a great opportunity for PSG when he left the club in 2017. PSG acquired Neymar for €222 million, but even this opportunity couldn't work out well for the Catalan club. Instead, everything became even more complicated.

Romeu said, "After he left, madness began. We lost our way." Following Neymar's departure, Barcelona spent a significant amount on players such as Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele, but neither of them was able to prove their worth.
