In 2014, Brazil lost to Germany by a score of 7-0 in the semi-finals of the World Cup, on their home ground. In the following match, Brazil was defeated by the Netherlands with a score of 3-0. That became the second-highest margin of defeat in World Cup history.

Among the opponents, five-time world champions scored goals on five occasions, where they also hold the record for giving seven goals to an opponent. However, on Tuesday night (June 20), Seleção was defeated by Senegal with a score of 4-2, marking their second-highest margin of defeat since 2014.

Interestingly, the five-time champions had a shot accuracy of 63% in the match against Senegal, where they took 11 shots, with 5 of them being on target. On the other hand, Senegal had a shot accuracy of 37%, taking 7 shots, with 4 of them being on target.

However, luck was not on their side. That's why after a 9-year gap since their 7-0 defeat to Germany, they suffered such a big defeat.

Brazil achieved their biggest victory by defeating Haiti with a score of 7-1 in the Copa America match in June 2016. Later that year, in the World Cup qualification match, they defeated Bolivia by a score of 5-0.

In 2018, in an international friendly match, Brazil defeated El Salvador by a score of 5-0. In June 2019, in an international friendly match, Seleção celebrated a goal fest against Honduras. They defeated Honduras by a score of 7-0. In the same year, in the Copa America match, Brazil scored 5 goals against Peru.

In 2020, in a match of the World Cup qualification stage, they achieved a 5-0 victory against Bolivia. In 2022, in an international friendly match against South Korea and Tunisia, Brazil secured a 5-0 victory. 

However, the following year, in an international friendly match against Guinea, they won by a score of 4-1. But three days later, they suffered a 4-2 defeat against Senegal.
