At least 10 people died as the coach overturned on the way back from the wedding ceremony

A wedding bus overturned in the wine region of Australia, resulting in at least 10 deaths. Additionally, 20 injured individuals are currently hospitalized. Last night, on Saturday night, while returning from the wedding ceremony in Wine Country, the coach overturned on Hunter Valley's Wine Country Drive.

The police have reported that they are assessing the circumstances surrounding the accident. The 58-year-old bus driver has been arrested.

Tracey Chapman, the Assistant Commissioner of New South Wales Police, stated that the guests were likely heading towards Singleton for overnight accommodation. The accident occurred during this time. The bus is still at the scene of the incident, and there could be more people trapped underneath. A crane will be used to lift the bus at a designated time.

The incident took place around 11 p.m. local time when the bus took a bend near Gol Gol Chowk on the highway. The area was densely populated at that time. There is concern that the death toll may rise. 25 passengers have been taken to the hospital, with two of them being airlifted by helicopter from the accident site.

Mrs. Chapman further stated that there is sufficient information available with the police to charge the coach driver. Initially, he was taken to the hospital for treatment. He is now under arrest. There was already a complaint against him regarding a car collision. The complaint has been officially filed.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of Australia has stated, "This tragic incident of loss of lives in such a beautiful place is truly heartbreaking and distressing."

Speaking at a press conference in Canberra, Albanese also said, "People hire buses to keep their guests safe. But such a horrific accident has occurred. Some injured passengers are in Hunter Hospital, while many have been taken to Sydney."

New South Wales Premier Chris Minns said, "These fatalities are heartbreaking. Such a devastating accident happened on a day that was supposed to be filled with love and happiness. It's very difficult to accept such a tragic event on a day of joy and commitment. We are working for those injured."

One wedding guest said, "The day was so joyful that I felt like I was inside the pages of a fairytale. But as soon as I heard the news of the accident, a feeling of despair overwhelmed me."

The police have stated that they are still identifying the injured and attempting to contact their families. They have requested the families and friends of those on the bus to contact the SES (State Emergency Service) for information.

Hunter Valley in New South Wales is famous for its vineyards and cellar doors. Countless people visit here every year. It is speculated that the number of tourists may decrease after this incident.
