The 2022-23 season of European football came to an end in the second week of June. The 2023-24 season will start in August, but there will be no rest for the teams in the interim two months. Big clubs, which have grown significantly over the past few seasons in terms of preparation, revenue, and branding, will play multiple matches during this period.
Manchester United, for instance, will play six preseason matches in various cities around the world. They will play three friendly matches within a distance of nearly 20,000 miles for the Tottenham Hotspur Trophy. According to British tabloid 'The Sun,' Premier League clubs will play a total of 64 preseason matches in 26 days. All the teams together will cover a total distance of 170,758 miles, equivalent to circling the Earth seven times. Manchester City
The reigning Champions League winner, Manchester City, will embark on an Asia tour during the preseason. They will play in South Korea and on the grounds of Japan. Specifically, they will face Yokohama on July 23 and Bayern Munich on July 26 on Japanese soil. Later, on July 30, they will play Atletico Madrid in Seoul, South Korea.

Erik ten Hag's team will travel to three countries. First, they will visit Scotland. Then, they will head to the United States. As a Premier League team that finished third and secured a place in the Champions League, Manchester United will play against Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund during the preseason.
