On September 14, 2021, Caleb Martin signed a two-way contract with the Miami Heat, allowing him to split his playing time between the Heat and their G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce. He made his debut for the Heat on October 21, contributing five points and two steals in a 137–95 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. One of his standout performances occurred on December 8, when he achieved a career-high of 28 points, along with eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals in a 113–104 win against the Bucks. Recognizing his contributions, the Heat converted Martin's contract to a standard deal on February 15, 2022.

During the playoffs, the Heat faced the Atlanta Hawks in the first round. Martin made his playoff debut on April 17, scoring two points in a 115–91 Game 1 victory. Although the Heat advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals, they were ultimately eliminated in a seven-game series against the Boston Celtics.

On July 6, 2022, Martin re-signed with the Miami Heat on a three-year contract worth $20 million. However, on October 22, 2022, during a game against the Toronto Raptors, Martin was ejected following an altercation with Raptors center Christian Koloko. As a result, he received a one-game suspension without pay from the NBA.

In the first round of the 2023 NBA playoffs, Martin played a crucial role as the eighth-seeded Heat upset the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks. He averaged 11.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2 assists per game during the series. Notably, on May 19, 2023, Martin scored 25 points in a 111–105 Game 2 victory against the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals. In Game 7 of the series, he had an impressive performance with 26 points and 10 rebounds, contributing to the Heat's 103–84 win and securing their second NBA Finals appearance in four years. Martin's strong playoff showing earned him recognition, narrowly missing out on the Eastern Conference Finals MVP award, averaging 19.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per game while shooting 60.2% from the field and 48.9% from three-point range.
