International Children's Book Day
International Children's Book Day is celebrated annually on April 2nd. It was first established by the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) in 1967 to promote international understanding and awareness of children's books and their importance in education and culture.

Each year, a different National Section of IBBY is chosen to be the sponsor of International Children's Book Day, and they choose a theme and author to be featured. The theme for 2023 is "Books Without Borders" and the author featured is Meg Medina.
International Children's Book Day is celebrated in different ways around the world, but some common activities include reading events, book fairs, storytelling sessions, and other activities that promote reading and literacy among children. It's a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading and the important role that children's books play in shaping young minds.
