The world celebrates 14 February annually as Valentine's day. Valentine was the name of a saint in the 3rd century. Valentine was imprisoned and martyred in 269 for helping persecuted Christians.

Saint Valentine was persecuted as a Christian Roman Emperor Claudius II tried to convert Saint Valentine to Roman paganism to save his life. Valentine refused and instead tried to convert Claudius to Christianity. Because of this, he was executed. Before his execution, he is said to have performed a miracle by healing Julia, the blind daughter of his jailer Asterius.
On the evening before Valentine's execution, he is believed to have written the first "Valentine" card himself, addressed to the daughter of his jailer Asterius, who was no longer blind, signed "Your Valentine."
Since the 8th century, February 14 has been celebrated as the Feast of Saint Valentine all over the world. Gradually, in England in the 15th century, 14th February was celebrated as Valentine's day, the day of love offering in the royal house.
14 February has become a significant event to celebrate love and romance all over the world.
